How can I change the "hand" to a "pointer" on the Page Thumbnails in Adobe XI Pro
Hi experts,
I am using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. I have never experienced this problem. Normally, when I am using Page Thumbnails, I can click on each thumbnail with the arrow, drag the page out using the arrow, select pages, etc. For some reason, with my newest version, every time I put the arrow on the thumbnail it turns into a hand that you grab with. When it is a hand, I cannot drag the page onto the desktop, select the page, basically I can do very little of the things I can do with the arrow.
I have looked through the preferences, but I cannot seem to find why this hand exists. Is there a way to get rid of it?
Thanks.

Thank you Dan Cracuin and khkremer,
I very much appreciate your help, and I apologize for taking so long to get back to you. This has been a bit difficult for me, because I have never run into the problem. It has also been problematic, because it is occurring on one of my staff's computer, and they tend to average three days before they report a problem.
The computer where I am not having the issue is using Adobe Acrobat X Pro and the computer where I am having the issue is Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. I will refer to these as 10 and 11 if you don't mind as both are Adobe Acrobat Pro. I will upload a few .PNG files which will hopefully help you in helping me, and I will be sure to include the numbers in the name. Again, 10 is on my computer, and it works. 11 is on hers and does not. Just as an FYI, all of my other computers have various versions of Acrobat, and they all work. I usually do not use Reader because, as khkremer stated it can cause issues with being the reader instead of Acrobat. I do not like to use Bullzip or Print2PDF or any third party programs because even though they are much cheaper or free, I prefer the real thing. Unfortunately, I feel Adobe charges too much, but after all, they created the PDF, and I can do everything I need with it.
Now back to the issue. On 11, it will sometimes allow the pointer to work, but most of the time it does not. There does not seem to be a huge advantage of the hand except you seem to be able to the page in the viewer a bit. The only way to ensure that you get the arrow, is to make the page part of the thumbnail smaller so that it does leave quite a bit of grey area at the bottom. Any amount of grey is fine, it is just easier when you have more to.
This does seem to solve the problem. To make it even more exciting on 11 (the problematic one), if you try to put the arrow on the thumbnail, it will become a hand. But only on the top one. And, even if you change the top thumbnail so that it shows 40% grey to solve the problem, this does not change the others. But, all of those act normal with the arrow regardless of what the top one shows. All of the pdfs on all the computers are set up under zoom and all work fine. Dan's trick of changing the grey seems to solve the problem, but I am curious as to why that has to be the problem. Of course, give I just paid $485 for it, my guess is that support shouldn't be an issue.
I can't help but think it is some setting in preferences.
Sorry so long.

Thanks. For what you pay for this software, it should be a little bit easier. :-)
So, check that the document is not protected (via Document Properties) and verify that the PDF is open in the correct application.
