POP Account and Exchange Account

We are switching over a company from POP mail to Exchange 2010 mail. The person I/C does not want us to import the pst information into the new exchange accounts yet he would like his users to have access to their old pop mail which has many INBOX messages and subfolders. The pop mail is being looked after by abc.com and we will have them add DNS pointers to point to the company's ISP (def.com). The ISP (def.com) will have "A" records added for mail and webmail pointing to the WAN address of the exchange server. How can we have both accounts available in their Outlook program and only have exchange as their main mail account? Once we change the DNS records at abc.com the former pop account will error out when the Outlook program is opened.
