The SharePoint_Config log file is huge and I want to shrink the file. How to do this ?

Can I permanately change the SharePoint_Config database to "Simple" mode ? Will there be any concern on this ?

Have a read of this article.

It goes over how to shrink a SQL Server logfile, why it's so large and steps you can take to stop it getting large again.

It grows and grows because (I'm guessing) you're not backing up your transaction log files.

You could change to simple log mode but you will lose the ability to recover to a point in time - with full you can recover up to the point of failure in the event of a disaster.  With Simple you can only recover to the last full backup.

How important is your data to you ?
