What would be the best way to archive emails with folder redirection?
I have a GPO that redirects clients folders including AppData to a network share. All of these clients are running Windows 7 with Office 2010, and thus email is downloaded from an exchange 2003 server into Outlook.
I want to host our mailboxes somewhere else, then disconnect the exchange but keep all the emails. I tried last week to download administrative templates for Outlook 2010 and configured auto-archiving through GPO but found out that the mail client became almost unusable with archives sync errors and it mostly became unresponsive after a couple of minutes. I did a couple of searches before that and most similar topics mentioned that networked .pst(s) are unsupported and a bad idea. So What alternatives do I have? Cached mode is currently available but I am not sure if that is enough...
Any thoughts?
