Hey all, I have been struggling to fix my Lenovo T61. One day the back-light stopped working. I experienced no warnings, it just happened. I replaced the inverter with no luck. I then replaced the whole LCD panel to still have the same problem. I checked the motherboard for any loose connections but everything looks ok. When I turn on the computer I can faintly make out whats on the screen but it is very dark. I look forward to some advice, Thank you!

If you replaced the entire LCD panel, then it seems you could have (a) a bad replacement panel, or (b) a bad circuit on the motherboard that the panel plugs into.
I have a T61p in the basement. That computer has a video output. Plug in an external monitor. Does the external monitor work?

The old and new LCD panels work the same. Getting a new LCD did not change anything. Sorry I should have mentioned that I can use the computer fine with the video out-plug. It is the only was i can still use the computer.
