Digital Sprite 2 DVR camera system

I have this system in my complex. DS2.  http://www.dedicatedmicros.com/europe/support_product.php?selected_page_id=6&product_id=150
I really wish we could get higher resolution (at least 720p) without paying thousands per camera.

In looking at the manual for that DVR system, it looks like the best it supports is 480p NTSC.   Even with 720p cameras, you would still be limited to a 480p capture.

I assume the cameras we currently have are capable for 720p and higher.  What DVR would you recommend to get to upgrade the current one?

ASKER

Hi Merete,

We have 9 cameras.  most of them these specifications below.
We are in California, US.
Pixim Dome Camera (Nuvicom labeled)
700 TVL, 1/3" Pixim sensor, 2.8~12mm varifocal lens,17 pcs IR LEDs, built-in OSD and ICR, IP 66 for indoor and outdoor application, vandal proof, light gray & aluminum housing, DC12V & AC24V input. 700 TV lines resolution - 1/3" Pixim sensor - 2.8~12mm varifocal lens - 17 pcs IR LEDs - Wide Dynamic Range(120dB WDR) - Advance 3D noise reduction (3DNR) - Auto Tracking White balance (ATW ) - Built-in OSD.

Some cams inside and some out on the court yard and in front of the exterior doors outside.

I believe these cameras are able to capture a better resolution.  Its just a DVR limitation.  We also have all the wiring in place.  So changing to a better DVR should provide a better resolution capture?
Please advice.  And thank you for your response!

Thanks again, Merete.  Yes, we have analog cabling.  So I guess we will need to change it also.  I don't think they a gold plated.  Nickel most likely.
So we will need to replace DVR along with cameras too..
Tiras25 probably the cheapest way round is to simply replace the analog  composite cables
with digital supported from the current  cameras to your current DVR  it supports it.

If you have experienced  analog TV reception changing to digital 100 improvement in picture quality.
Ask your company administrator there or someone who understand the technical jargon with the current domes.
