WORD 2007: auto-boldface a particular word

Hi,

Per WORD 2007:

We frequently refer to the name of our own product (call it MyWidget) in our documentation. As a  matter of style, I always boldface it but would love if I could set a rule or something where WORD would automatically boldface it for me.

Is there a way configure WORD 2007 this way?
Thanks,
Steve

You will need to write a macro to do that. Please find below the link which has all the relevent info on write a VBA for Word 2010.

Thank you.. I took a quick look an writing a macro in VBA is going to take more time than I can afford right now...I was hoping there'd be something simpler. But thanks anyway.

Thanks, Paul. So it there a way to BOLDFACE it? That's the whole point here. Whether I type "MW" or "MyWidget" the result needs to be MyWidget

Paul, I found the dialog box for autocorrect but the "Formatted Text" option is grayed out. Any idea why?
Thanks

Are you saying I should HIGHLIGHT MyWidget and right click on it?

Paul,
I can't seem to accept multiple solutions here. I clicked on ACCEPT MULTIPLE SOLUTIONS on one of the answers, and it is marking that one as "best answer" and not letting me select any other. I want to accept a few of your answers since no one answer contains all of the helpful info that you provided.

Thanks,
Steve

just put the points on 1 answer - I don't think it makes that much difference - but you can ask for help from a moderator also.

Hey Paul,

OK, this has been very helpful...but I ran into a case where I guess we need to refine this. I guess the font in which I did the Auto Correct was Times New Roman 11. B/c when I am in say, size 16 instead of 11, "MyWidget" gets shrunk to 11.

That said, when I type in another font, the font seems to be retained.

Any suggestions?
Thanks again,
Steve

Select Text for saving to auto correct instead of Format.

To insert, first click bold then type MW to insert MyWidget...

Here is an exampleMyWidget.docx
