Crashed DC Questions
Hi,
I had a problem with my primary domain controller when I attempted to move it to new hardware via veeam. The whole thing became corrupt and I was forced to seize the fsmo roles to a secondary dc. The problem with this is that the secondary DC was out of sync for about a month, so I had to re-add all the computers back to the domain, because I was getting a trust relationship error. The problematic dc is still up and working (somewhat).
I want to build a new dc as there still seems to an issue around group policy with it. Can I take the ip address from the crashed dc and apply it to a new dc without issue? I have a lot of static ip information set around the network with the ip address of that dc so it would make things a lot easier.
