Sophos protection on Exchange Server 2007

What are the ways to protect Exchange server from viruses and malware. If I run sophos anti-virus protection, it takes a lot of time due to the size of exchange database and therefore, decreases system performance.

About PureMessage - Sophos?

I meant for operating system as well. I am looking for a solution to protect Windows server 2008 that has Exchange Server installed from viruses and malware.

For the file system on the server I have found ESET File Server Security to be a good solution.

Also if you want to scan inbound and outbound emails and attachments I'd like to recommend SureMessage

Best regards.

an exchange server that gets a message that contains a virus doesn't execute the code it simply passes the message onto the client
