I called support and even though there is a Parallel port they said it won't support parallel printing. I wen't ahead and ordered IP printers to resolve the issue.

Just deployed a small office to our DataCenter and users are connecting to their desktops with a HP Thin Client (H2P25AT). I have one terminal that uses an old Epson parallel receipt printer and would like to be able to print receipts from their desktop. I've always used network printers so I have not ran into this issue before.<br />

I've plugged the receipt printer into the parallel port, went to configure, printer mapping, and added a printer selecting the parallel port. When I connect to the desktop (currently Windows 7) nothing appears in devices and printers. As I said I've never done this before so I'm sure I'm missing a few steps. Any help would be appreciated. <br />

Virtualization is the act of creating a virtual (rather than actual) version of something, including (but not limited to) a virtual computer hardware platform, operating system (OS), storage device, or computer network resources. Virtualization is usually the creation of a system that executes separate from the underlying hardware resources, or the creation of an entire desktop for systems located elsewhere, similar to thin clients.

Virtualization

An embedded system is a computer system with a dedicated function within a larger mechanical or electrical system, often with real-time computing constraints. Examples of properties typical of embedded computers when compared with general-purpose ones are low power consumption, small size, rugged operating ranges, and low per-unit cost. Modern embedded systems are often based on microcontrollers; the processor(s) used may be types ranging from general purpose to those specialised in certain class of computations, or even custom designed for the application at hand. A common standard class of dedicated processors is the digital signal processor (DSP).

Embedded Hardware

A printer is a peripheral which makes a persistent human readable representation of graphics or text on paper or similar physical media. Traditional printers are being used more for special purposes, like printing photographs or artwork, and are no longer a must-have peripheral; 3D printing has become an area of intense interest, allowing the creation of physical objects. An image scanner is a device that optically scans images, printed text, handwriting, or an object, and converts it to a digital image. Hand-held scanners, where the device is moved by hand, have evolved from text scanning "wands" to 3D scanners used for industrial design, reverse engineering, test and measurement, orthotics, gaming and other applications.
