word 2013 restricted editing

I would like to know if there is a way to configure format restrictions in word 2013 to still allow direct editing such as bold / underline / italics etc once style restrictions are enabled. Thanks

You can apply font settings to parts of a paragraph by selecting it and choosing  an appropriate character style (e.g. Strong).

I guess you could create a UI (ToolBar / UserForm) that provides the direct formatting options you require and applies them by temporarially unprotecting the document then re-protecting...
Any luck with this?
Dude... seriously you need to provide more information if there is no solution or delete the question.  Your comment has NOT provided a solution.
