asked on

laptop bios password reset

I have a Toshiba P75-A7100 Laptop.  It Got a little shaken up the other day and when I go to boot it now it asks for the bios password  I removed the Battery and it still asks for the password.  I looked for the jumper to reset it and can not find it.  Tech support wants me to send it back and that is just ridiculous.  The laptop is maybe a week old.  Anybody have any ideas where the reset jumpers maybe on this laptop.

If the laptop was off, I don't know why shaking it would cause a BIOS failure unless the BIOS chip was not properly seated. I have dropped my ThinkPads (accidentally) with no damage.

So the laptop probably does need service.

be happy that it's only a week old - otherwise you'd have to pay for the fix !
So send it in asap

as you can see from the above, you can't reset the password - if you don't know it
