I suspect that the artist that did the cover for the Samba Sadashiva CD used a font like El Greco (=&gt; <a href="http://www.whatfontis.com/El-Greco-berthold.font?text=Samba Sadashiva" rel="ugc nofollow">LINK</a>) as the base design.<br />

Then he would have outlined the font so it is an object, from which you can manipulate individual shapes to create the stretched 'S' and arched 'h' and also the small 's'. However El Greco is only similar and not quite the same font. If you are still interested in knowing what the base font is let us know.<br />

What font family is this text using?

A font is a particular size, weight and style of a typeface. Each font is a matched set of type, one piece (called a "sort") for each glyph, and a typeface consists of a range of fonts that share an overall design. With the advent of digital typography, font is frequently synonymous with typeface, although the two terms do not necessarily mean the same thing. In particular, the use of "vector" or "outline" fonts means that different sizes of a typeface can be dynamically generated from one design. Each style may still be in a separate "font file" -- for instance, the typeface "Futura" may include the fonts "Futura roman", "Futura italic", "Futura bold" and "Futura extended" —- but the term "font" might be applied either to one of these alone or to the whole typeface.

Adobe Creative Suite (CS) is a software suite of graphic design, video editing, and web development applications developed by Adobe Systems. Each edition consists several Adobe applications, including Photoshop, Acrobat, InDesign, Premiere Pro or After Effects. Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator are the industry standard applications for many graphic design positions. Illustration software is distinguished from photo-editing software in that the result is an original construction, rather than the manipulation of a photograph. Illustration software uses vector-based tools such that the content is stored digitally as resolution-independent mathematical formulae describing lines (open paths), shapes (closed paths), and color fills, strokes or gradients. Vector paths are constructed of anchor points and path segments. Illustration tools typically create precise lines, shapes and patterns with well-defined edges and are superb for working with complex constructions such as maps and typography.
