Quickbooks invoice posting error

We use Bigtime, 3rd party time and billing package that connects to Quickbooks.  A new issue has developed when we post invoices from the time and billing system, an error occurs stating that the tax item code is no longer valid.  The tax item code is in the system and works when you create an invoice within Quickbooks.
Thanks.

Thanks for your response.  I think the answer may be yes.  We are in Canada, and the issue is with our flow through tax (GST).    2.  I don't think so.  We are running 2013 with up to date taxes.  We have stopped short of trying 2014, but perhaps we should?  3.  Yes, dedicated Win 7 box that runs both QB and BT monitor.
My client is in Canada (as am I) and it is normally mid-June at the earliest before we can ever update QuickBooks. That may be the issue and you should contact BigTime Support tomorrow to see if they can help and to see if now you can go to V2014 (that I am using myself and at other clients).

Also check the Tax Code list to make sure nothing has changed.
I am in constant contact with Bigtime lately!  I'm not clear on your comment though, are you using 2014 with Bigtime?
Not yet so far as I know. My colleague does the update for that particular client and so far as I know, he has not yet updated them. My suggestion was to ask BigTime if you can now do the V2014 upgrade at this point. I am not certain.
Another thing to try (outside of BigTime) is a verify and rebuild. Copy the ledger (company data file) and the associated transaction log file to a local computer that has QuickBooks installed (preferably the QB administrator's computer). Open the local company file and do a verify followed by a rebuild.

Assuming it rebuilds correctly, copy it and the TLG file back to the server (you might backup to the old files first for safety) and then test the rebuilt file.
I did a verify and rebuild when the problem first surfaced, but no luck.
Thanks for the update. So check out the Sales Tax List (Item Lists) and verify all is well and then proceed with BigTime Support.
I had previously tried all of the suggestions, but I do appreciate the response.  Since I'm not really getting any other ideas, I am closing the question.
@mackinop  - Thank you for the update and I was happy to work with you on this.
