Roaming Profile Problem

Hey guys,

I have a problem here where a user on the network is getting the following error when they log in to their profile on different systems in the department. I was working fine but recently it started throwing the error.

***
Windows could not load your roaming profile and is attempting to log you on with your local profile. Changes to the profile will not be copied to the server when you log off. Windows could not load your profile because a server copy of the profile folder already exists that does not have the correct security. Either the current user or the Administrators group must be the owner of the folder.
***

I have tried removing the roaming profile path from Active Directory and re-entering it again, removing registry entries from machines that they logged in to which threw the error also.

Could it be something on the server itself that's causing this particular error because this is the only user that's having the error at the moment out of 40+ people.

What are some of the things that I could do in an attempt to rectify this issue.

We are using exchange 2007 SP3 and the client OS is Windows 7 Professional.

Thanks

The error is pretty straightforward. Whatever the path is that you've added to AD for the roaming profile, that directory already exists *and* has the wrong permissions. You can delete the folder (losing any settings and files in it) and it will be recreated with the right permissions and default settings the next time the user logs in. Or you can change the ownership of the folder in the advanced security settings.
