how to configure a string to open a web based program atached to firefox from my desktop

how to you configure firefox to open directly from your desktop icon to open a web based page, which afterward you may change its icon of my election.

It was not abandoned ,it just didn't solve the problem. Probably I didn't make my self clear. What I was referring to is when , you make a shortcut with firefox icon the you RT click run down to to properties ,then on the popup screen at the target string you modify it with the web address of the desired link and change the icon. That was the intention.

For this you have to Make Firefox the Default Browser.

Follow below steps to do it:

1. Open Firefox.
2. From Menu click on Tools -> Options -> Advanced.
3. There you will find a button to Make Firefox the Default Browser.
4. Click on it, then click on OK.

Now open the shortcut from desktop and you will see that now every short is opening in Mozilla Firefox.

Not really. I had some web base programs which run better on Chrome and we are using Explorer and what was done was the following : we login the program after downloading Chrome on our desktop, After ward they used the icon and modified it . When I click on it , it takes me to the program. Besides he also selected a diferent icon. That's the question =. How ?
