Backup Exec 2014 cannot connect to SQL database

I have installed BackupExec 2014 and attempting to perform a full backup which includes my SQL database instance. When I "test/edit credentials" for the backup job and Test All, my SQL database shows "Test failed, Test recommended". I am unable to change the logon setting because it is greyed out with "user server's logon account". If I change the server's logon account the test still fails.
I'm not sure what account it wants.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Ensure that the Windows user account that you use to back up the SQL instances has System Administrator privileges.

Ensure that Backup Exec has rights to the following registry keys:

        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server

        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MSSQL

Thanks. All to do with the user that BackupExec was running under. As a test I changed the user to the system administrator and everything then burst into life. Now I know what the cause is I can configure the backup user correctly.
Cheers
