eDirectory 8.8 SP8 Install Guidance
Hello,
I am installing eDirectory 8.8 SP8 onto a Windows 2012 Server. This is a new install so that I can test GroupWise 2014. I am not too sure what settings to use for the Tree, Server Object, and Admin Context. If I enter information and press Next, I am given an error that says:
"The server name and context must be specified. eDirectory format is required (e.g. myserver.context or server.O=context)."
I am not really sure what it is asking for. For this example, if my domain was mycompany.com, and with the attached screen shot, please let me know what I need to enter and how I should enter it.
Thank you.

Thank you for your help. I still don't get it, unfortunately. This test environment is the only Novell/NetIQ environment and I am setting it up on VMWARE for testing. If you can just help me with what to put in the following fields to make this work, I would appreciate it:
TREE NAME:
NEW SERVER OBJECT CONTEXT:
ADMIN NAME:
ADMIN CONTEXT:
Currently, as in the screen shot example, the tree name is QALAB, the New Server Object Context is GRPWISE-NDS. My server is actually named GRPWISE, but eDirectory added the -NDS to the name. My Admin Context is O=RESEARCH.
Thank you,

If you are creating your first tree you can pretty much make up the tree yourself. You could follow the documentation on Desiging an eDirectory tree:
https://www.netiq.com/documentation/edir88/edir88/data/a2iiidp.html
The Tree name can be anything, so QALAB is fine. If later you want to extend the usage of your tree you may want to use a more general name, or make the QALAB tree your test environment and create a new tree with a new server for your production environment
Usually the top organization (O) in your tree has the name of your company (so O=mycompany), and below that you could / should create an Organizational Unit (OU) named Servers.
So in your example the Server context would be OU=Servers.O=mycompany, or Servers.mycompany (O and OU isn't always necessary to specify).
If you want to have your users in a separate context you could create a context OU=Users.O=mycompany, but you could also put your admin user in O=mycompany.
