My comment will be of negative type. Your future ERP system shouldn't be Infor Visual (basing on our 10 years' experience with it).
Where is "middle ease"?
Your question is how long is a piece of string. You may need to outsource this or if you can do it yourself and work out exactly what you need a ERP system for. What parts of the ERP do you need. You've mentioned payroll but that's obvious for a company of your size. What about Supply Chain? Manufacturing? Retail? Inventory / Stock management? Sales / Marketing? etc etc
Identify the needs first before the software as you'll find out later that some just can't do what you need them to.
I've recently left a company of about the same size who also had Macs (but I replaced them with Windows as we were Windows based server and network). They're using Greentree and we looked multiple times at replacing it but found that no other ERP system out there could magically do what we wanted so we stuck with it and developed 3rd party add-ons for those erroneous business processes.
So let me know what your business does and what areas of a ERP system you'd need and we'll go from there.
