Why 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for gmail' reports error?
OS: Windows 8.1
Outlook 2010
I want to get in Outlook the emails sent to my gmail account. This was possible on my previous laptop using the same versions of Windows and Outlook and the same settings. Now I get the message:
"Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for gmail.' reported error (0x800CCC0E) : 'Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for gmail.
Error: Cannot connect to the server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' "

I think what clark means is that you need to reconfigure your setting and not repair the setting.

Before asking the question I ignored the Repair option offered by Outlook. After asking the question I continued to search for a solution and I used Repair. In conclusion: do not ignore Repair.
Also enable the “My Outgoing server require authentication” check box from the “Outgoing Server” tab.
Take help from the above suggestion to fix the Outlook Error 0x800CCC0E and feel free to response for further assistance.
