Docked and undocked profile screen resolution

User is using Windows 7 enterprise, 64 bit.  HP 840 g1 laptop.
When the laptop is booted at home, the screen resolution is bigger than the screen, i.e. the start button and taskbar only fit half way.

Any suggestions to fix this?  \

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

other than have the user right click on the screen and select display and then set the resolution I don't know of a way out of the box
Try pressing Windows key+P. Or press the key kombination to switch between internal/external screen (Fn+F4).

Also try open the BIOS and disable the hybrid graphic option.

You could also try to download and install the latest graphics driver for your PC.
