Hyper-V replication

I am trying to get 2012 server box with Hyper-V ito installed 2 instances of virtual 2012 Std server and enable replication between the 2 Virtual Machines.

I can only get only Virtual Machine of 2012 Server to installed on my Hyper-V box.

How do I get 2 VM's with 2012 std server installed on a single box in enable replication between the two?

Thanks

Are you talking about Hyper-V Replica?  That requires TWO physical servers running Hyper-V.

Otherwise, what are you talking about?  It almost sounds like you want one VM on a system to replicate itself to another VM on the SAME system - you cannot do this.

Hi,
To make it more clear, Hyper-V replica is a new feature of Hyper-V that replicates all changes on a virtual machine to a counterpart virtual machine hosted by a different server.

Once replication is configured and enabled, an initial copy of data from the primary virtual machines must be sent to the Replica virtual machines. So you don't have to create the replica VM manually, its getting created at the time of configuring replica.

Ideally, You need to have two Hyper-V host created first. Once Hyper-V is configured on both hosts, create a VM on one of the host. You can make a replica of this VM on the second host by configure HyperV replication.

Have a look on the below article on how to configure Hyper-V replica.

Let me know if you need any further clarification.

Cheers.
