now i get the checklist in the start, i can tick it off or on, but even though i check something off, it still gets installed? why? i am ticking office 2010 off, but it still gets installed.....

i fixed it, i have to define it in customssettings.xml file, under settings.

ApplicationInstallation needs to be define under settings (CustomeSettings.xml).
