vmware servers - make one of the san storage offline

I have a couple of vmware servers configured as a cluster and they have access to several storage. One of the storage need to be taken offline for maintenance. I will power off the virtual machines located on this storage. Is there anything else that I need to do?

I cannot power off all vms from all storage( no downtime). I have several storage devices, and one of the storage devices will be in maintenance(firmware update- storage controllers and disks).
Is there any problem to poweroff the vms and after that reboot the storage.

VMware servers - esxi 4.1
