I am currently packaging Visual studio 2012 application,in that I have 2 problems

1) When I launch the shortcut Visual studio 2012 it is prompting with “Do you want to download and install product documentation?
This is to be deployed into a managed environment so the user would not be able to install this anyway.
is there a way to set it to web only documentation or include the documentation with the installation?

I have tried with the REG.EXE ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\11.0\Help" /v DisableFirstRunHelpSelection /t reg_dword /d 1

But it didnt worked.Even I tried with shims Runas Invoke and Run as highest to suppress it still no luck.

Please suggest me any other solution to resolve this.

2) When i launch the shortcut Blend it is going for customer experience servay ,Please suggest me how to suppres this problem.

Please send me if you have step by step packaging to Visual studio 2012 for best practice.

Please clarify - are you packaging an application created in Visual Studio, or you are packaging Visual Studio itself?

The possibilities are very limited. This page is the official administration guide, and it does not say much. It has link to unattended installation, which in turn mentions  file AdminDeployment.xml as the only source of customizations. This page has the list of them, however note also that Microsoft team member posted that what packages are under which option, is intentionally undocumented. For your purposes, the line   <SelectableItemCustomization Id="HelpHidden" Selected="yes" /> seems promising, try to specify "selected="no".

Another line in the same source describes Blend, so you can control whether it's installed or not. If it gets installed but the shortcut does not work as expected, you probably need to check (in the installation log, for instance) if Blend is actually installed, and what the shortcut actually points to.

by:Vadim Rapp specify that it should be using web-only documentation, probably the only way is to find out where this is stored, for example, by using Process Monitor when the setting is changed.

I am using Visual studio 2012.iso file (which will be extracted and Installed).I need a solution that should fix the documentation download prompt when we launch the shortcut.

As I said, it's undocumented, so the only way is to try this and that and hope that something will work. This is what I would try:

    1. AdminDeployment.xml .

    2. setup.exe only launches other installations from the media in sequence. Find out which ones (form the log or by process monitor) and launch them directly.

    3. try to suppress user interface using command like parameter from .
