Using wildcard certificates on local domain

I have a Server 2012R2 environment with users connecting via RDS. I have a domain based wildcard cert (*.domain.com) but my internal machines are of the *.domainname.local. I've setup RDS with this domain based wildcard cert but when my users connect they get a warning about a non valid cert from the internal domain name. Is there a way to install the cert so that they no longer get the message about the invalid cert?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can do one of two things:
1. You can export the root cert to all your users (via gpo if this is a domain based scenario)

2. Bind RDS to the external name and use a third party wildcard certificate
