Crystal Report 2011

Created a report that pulls ultrasound test from providers notes.  Was able to filter by test, but the notes field is just one field with 550 text characters, I am trying to pull the ordering physician name which is imbedded in this field. The location is random, but it is always right after the string “Phys: (provider’s name).” Is there a way to pull this?  Appreciate the help. Thank you

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It will be slow.  Will the name always be in ( )?

Are you filtering on it or do you just need to display it in the report

Formula to get the name
If there will only be 1 physician thus identified

Split(Split({YourField},"Phys:("),")")[1]

To filter on it based on a user parameter

InStr("Phys:(" & {?Doctor Parameter} , {NotesFIeld}) > 0
