look for a plugin call WP Migrate DB, it exports the db with new URL and server paths
export from the current db with the updated URL, then run the script in MySQL to update to the new URL

on the admin page to to the  Settings- General
and you can change the WordPress Address (URL)  and the Site Address (URL)
changing the site address should do the trick.

however, back up the db before you make any changes to the site URL as sometimes its hard to get back in to the admin when you have told the system the pages are actually somewhere else.

@chiternPC

That only works on guid created after that change and could result in the site becoming inaccessible if not applied properly or the new url is not set to the site ip, to change current url values the db must be updated,

I recommend the WP Migrate dB plugin as it will replace all instances in the dB, including plugins and serialized data, it also exports a file rather directly update the dB.
