MS Outlook Zoom slider not functioning greyed out, if we insert Office 2013 disc and "repair" - will it disrupt any macros or settings elsewhere in the Office suite?

It works only when Reading Pane is on. To know how to switch on / off the Reading Pane, please refer to:

If that doesn't hep, you can go ahead with the Repair option. I don't think it should disrupt your existing settings / macros elsewhere in Office instance.

Thanks Raghu but the issue is it will not switch on regardless of trying to toggle the zoom pane on and off.

A MS forum suggested repair to hopefully restore this setting but the client asked will it effect any macros or other settings?

I guess the further question might be will it fix what's broken but leave alone the added elements since the install?

Well, only Microsoft would know what exactly the repair operation does! It might be worth a try. If you still feel it is risky, you might want to create a restore point before doing the repair. This way, if the repair messes up something, you can restore the previous state.

Cannot think of any other idea.
