this is what I have so far.

this is the parent window that has the multi-select

<select name="SelectName" id="SelectName" style="width: 230px; height: 100px;" multiple="">
<option value="3453452">John, Smith</option>
<option value="6733223">Mike, Smith</option>
<option value="9534555">Lulu, Smith</option>
<option value="1443566">Nick, Smith</option>

this is the child window that wants to get the data and store it in a list.

<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">

	$(document).ready(function () {

// I want to retrieve the data from the parent to the child window
// loop thru the multi-select and store in as a list to be used in a query.
// window.opener.$("#SelectName ???????
