KVM with remote desktop

I'm looking for a KVM that connects to a computer that will give me remote access through the KVM.  Reason is that the computer I am controlling is locked down, so I don;t have remote access to it unless I am right in front of it.

I have windows domain with Win serv2012R2.  Inside my office I have a computer terminal from a company I work with.  that computer is tied to a VPN router and I don't have any admin privileges on it so can't use any software RDP installation to connect to the computer.

Does such an item exist?  can;t find one.

RDP is easy enough and is the answer for you.

If this is for business use (accessing the locked down computer) can you not ask for (a) someone to install RDP and/or (b) temporary admin access to install it yourself.

I cannot access that computer through RDP.  It is behind a firewall that will not allow it.

So then you need to adjust things so you can allow RDP (I do this all the time), or else go and sit in front of the computer.

I do not have admin access to that computer or it's controlled environment, or it's firewall.  That company's system will not let me have access to it for their own security reasons.  I essentially only have a terminal that I can sit at.

My question is whether there is a KVM switch that may have a separate Ethernet connection (or wireless) which I could plug into a network i can control.  I'm thinking of a KVM that I can access remotely.  And since the KVM connected to the computer's screen and keyboard and mouse, I could use the access to the KVM to control the computer remotely and therefore bypass the closed system just for viewing purposes.

I have no interest in transferring files, just want to remotely connect to a computer that has that feature locked down.

If this is a business issue, my suggestions take about 10 minutes. If they will not help you, then my question would be:  Are you allowed to do what you are doing? The situation you are in seems strange to me.

I appreciate your concern, but i am simply asking the question if this device exists.  I don't really need to go through all the other scenarios, although thank you for your input

I use KVM stuff and I have never seen any such thing that will mechanically (KVM) allow you to remote into a system (except very nearby).

@colin911  - I know there was no practical way to get what you wanted, but I was happy to help to the extent that I could.

Fair Enough.  thanks for the help.  FYI, I did end up finding a site that looked like it did what I wanted, but they were expensive devices so not practical for me...  Can;t remember the site.
