FM - Totalling or Summarizing a "Fraction Of" Field

Used the Fraction Of Summary field to obtain percentages, but when I tried to create another field that summarizes these percentages the FractionOf field was grayed out.  How do you total a FractionOF field?  Thank you.

You can't summarize a Summary field, but what you can do it create a calculation field using the GetSummary() function that produces the same value as your Summary field does. You can then summarize that. (or you can create a calculation that totals the Summaries)

To use the GetSummary function you need to know the field being summarized and the "break" field, meaning the field you are sorting by. So for example, if you are sorting records for a layout that has a sub-summary part and the part is set to display the sub-summary amount when sorted by Year, then for the GetSummary calculation, your break field is Year.

Here's the FileMaker Knowledgebase article on GetSummary

Thanks, that works.  However, what I went with since I was displaying in a portal and didn't want to worry about any break points, is to use the Sum function on the fraction field found within an X relationship.
