Having issues transferring WLM files to new computer from dead computer.  I've done this before but nothing seems to be working.

I have access and backed up the app folder to an external hd which is connected to the new computer.  It brought over some emails that were not on the Comcast server but not all his history.  Also having issue getting his contact to show up.  I believe it is simply not looking where it needs to.

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated,

Okay I transferred his contacts from his old contact folder to the new one and it appears the contact issue has been resolved.

Still having issues with accessing all his email history.  I do have his WLM folder.  Any suggestions?

Windows Live Mail email files should be in:

c:\users\username\appdata\local\microsoft\windows live mail

The main message store is in that folder and there are other folders there to look at.

I would be inclined to move the whole main folder (although I have not yet had need to). You could also park the folder on a USB key for safe keeping until all is well.

I believe I already did that but I will double check, it's been a while since I worked on his computer.  All his folders came over but I was missing some email history.  Thank you for responding!

I did do it that way but I am going to do it again just in case it didn't bring everything over correctly.  I will let you know.
