Feedburner and wordpress feed not working

i've been developing WordPress sites for a long time now but have a new client using Feedburner and amazingly it's the first time i've worked with it.

It isn't set up correctly.  First the feed seems incorrect.  The site is at http://insideabritishmumskitchen.com/feed/, and it is throwing an XML parsing error.   I went into her Google Feedburner account and changed the URL to the above and it also says there is an error.

I'm not sure what could be causing this error.

XML feeds are notoriously finicky.  In this case, the feed has a blank line as the very first output:

http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Finsideabritishmumskitchen.com%2Ffeed%2F

Which might throw FeedBurner completely off.

wow, so this is insanely crazy.  So looking at the threads I don't see a good solution for this in WordPress.  Most are talking about modifying core files which is NOT the way to go.

I've tried a plugin, deactivating most my plugins, editing my template files, but no joy.   This is really annoying.....

Have you tried switching back to a default theme, like TwentyTwelve or similar?
