There are times whereby CPU spike but in system processes there are 14 w3wp.exe and unable to tell which application pool causing this. Any recommended monitoring software for CPU and memory ?

Try sysinternals Process Explorer
at 1st Process Explorer is too much to digest, look around the application, try to understand what data is presented, give sometime browsing process explorer and it will be your fav tool.
