Eclipse and Maven

I assume that Maven is some sort of elaborate 'make' utility that can be utilized by Eclipse.  Is this correct

Is Maven an additional plug-in.

If so how do I get it?

Yes, your thought is correct. You need to download Maven and have to do a proper setup.
