proxmox vm conversion

Hi Experts,

I have a proxmox server running with some VMs on it.
Is it possible to convert all PROXMOX VMs to VMWARE VMs ?

Yes it is. You can use the freeware vmware vCenter Converter Standalone. You can download it directly from VMWare.

Its original made for converting physical server but can be used also to convert VM as long they are reachable from the converter Machine. Can be a virtual machine as well.

As far as I know this converter is not for linux.
On my PROXMOX server I have several linux VMs. These VMs needs to be converted to VMWARE.

Yes it is possible but it's recommended and Best Practice to install VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 5.5 on the VM to be converted. (if they are windows), otherwise you will need to perform a Network Remote Conversion.

check the release notes, and make sure your VMs are supported for conversion, not ALL OS are supported for conversion.

I always use a vm with windows OS and i install ther the converter. Then in the converter you can convert a powered on Machine. In your case its a linux one. There you have to put in the name or ip and the root account for access.
As target you can choose directly the vcenter for example
