the sql instant initialization - does it apply to all files in the server?

data, log, index- does it apply all or any?

what about system databases? does instant initialization enabled or apply to them also?

Only non-log (.ldf) files.  Log files must always be initialized before use.

what abt tempdb data file? (master db)

The specific db doesn't change the way SQL works, it's the same for the whole instance.

Thus, non-log files will use IFI if it's enabled and log files will not, regardless of db.
