365 Sharepoint as a file server?

Hi,

Will it be correct to use sharepoint 365 as a file server?

It also seems to have its limitation. (space)

If moving an entire business on the cloud, is Sharepoint the correct solution to replace a file server?

Thanks

SharePoint's main strength is collaboration. It's not intended as a full replacement of a file server, but when it comes to documents, it's the right place to put them.

Plus, it comes with OneDrive with 1TB of storage per user now, so it's a good place for users to store their personal and work related files.

1TB! Is that out of the box or an add-on?

This comes included with your SharePoint Online subscription. There is also a standalone plan for OneDrive for Business if you are interested in that:

I know lot of people are considering completely removing any on-prem file servers because of the amount of storage they give you now, but again, SharePoint and OneDrive are not intended to be used as a replacement for a file server. Their main focus is collaboration.
