calendar based setup for organizing notes instead of notepad++

Is there a program that will store notes about an event by date

for example a client that created a paying project 5/20/2014
(may pay again or may create another project but not for the purpose of this program)

a hotel guest that stayed
6/25/2014
(may stay again but not for the purpose of this program)

a car that was purchased
3/19/2014
(new notes for the car will be added but want to be able to easily find this car by date purchased)

a computer that was purchased
07/01/2011
(new notes will be added to computer but I know to find this computer by date purchased)

a computer that was purchased
06/22/2014
(new notes will be added to computer but I know to find this computer by date purchased)

a customer who arrived in the store
05/03/2010
(customer has come back many times since but I know this customer has been my customer since 2010)

bought cannon camera
5/20/2014
(may buy other cameras but if this camera breaks, need to return to store in time)

current problem:
I find myself using notepad++ to write notes which are sorted by date

output
bought cannon camera 5/20/2014
customer James Miller (first arrived in 5/3/10) bought a picture frame
cannon camera breaks (can I return?? when did I buy? Is return policy expired)
James buys another picture frame (when did he buy first picture frame??)
Mr Miller buys a cell phone
James buys a camera (look up which other items he has purchased)
James (what is James' last name??) buys a charger cable.

This is me typing all notes into note notepad file
So I started copying and pasting into many notepad files

For example
customers, items I purchased, clients

and then I need to write notes at a given position for item in file

for example: I will type all notes for customer: James Miller in a section of customers.txt where other notes about james miller appeared. The first note will be 5/3/10; the first day James Miller became a customer

I would prefer a calendar based setup so I can look up 5/3/10 and see all the notes for James Miller
I like that notepad++ has spellcheck because I tend to miss spell

Zones:
I am using windows7. Please add zones.

That sounds for access or even a sql database.
But try as a workaround onenote. Its installed by the office package. There you can better orginize then in notepad and the search is well.
