I need to be able to play bluetooth music from laptop to bluetooth speakers

I have a Dell XPS L521 Laptop. It has built in bluetooth, but it doesn't seem to want to work with bluetooth speakers, just computer peripherals.

I would like to be able to play music via bluetooth from my laptop to different bluetooth speakers. I have a couple of different ones, and would like to be able to enjoy them.

Anyone have recommendations on a USB bluetooth transmitter? Is there certain things I need to look for like, USB 3.0 or bluetooth 4.0???

Thanks for all of the help.

The speakers and the laptop must be compatible with the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)

Ensure that your speakers are discoverable.  Enabling that will vary by device.  Once the speakers are discovered they have to be paired to the laptop.

USB 3.0 is not needed but it won't hurt to the newer standard. Adoption BlueTooth 4.0 is growing and more devices have it.  Getting both would definitely be optimal but is not a requirement.

Yes. My Bluetooth speakers are A2DP compatible.

Is there a specific device I need?
