How to remove stuck email in 2010 Outlook Outbox

I have a large file stuck in the outbox of 2010 Outlook. I know, I know...save the lecture on large emails....

I have tried deleting it, moving it, send / receive and nothing. I get the error message that I cant open the item, its begun transmitting.

See the attachment.

Thanks!!!!

I had previously tried those steps searching for a solution online...

I am going to restart in safe mode with networking and see if I can get it to go away...
Are you running against Exchange and OST?  If you are, you could try deleting your OST and then re-open Outlook.  This should delete the message.
Another thing to try is tell Outlook only to send emails when you want it to (you can change send/receive behaviour under Tools > Send/Receive > Send/Receive Settings...). That way, if you get a stuck email, you can force quit out of Outlook then restart it without it immediately trying to send again. That should allow you to delete the email

I tinkered with the send receive settings earlier in my troublshooting...didnt seem to work.

Thanks for the help! I didnt boot into safe mode went back through the steps you posted again, and it worked!

Have a good one!
