Access to DevWWWRoot directory

We are trying to access our DevWWWRoot directory to get to our Sharepoint physical files. We are able to get the folders that have the files but when trying to open the folders we are getting an error. I have attached the error message.

Also when we search on our sharepoint server we dont see these folders on the physical server. Where would these folders reside and how and where can we do changes to the server to get in to the folders

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Sharepoint offers teh webdav protocol to connect to it and browse folders using your windows explorer.   Depending upon your system you could have GPO or registry rules preventing this from happening as a security restriction.
