What you are looking to do is setup the User Synchronization Profile service, Listed below is the technet article on how to do so:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee721049%28v=office.15%29.aspx

It is extremely simple and if you want I can do the step by step instructions but it all depends on how you would like to setup the service my personal preference is powershell cause I have control of the database name and location minus the ridiculous guid that follows using the builtin creation.

This will import your AD and allows you to setup what attributes you would like to capture.

Could we go over the step by step on the phone?  I can call you when you are available.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you my wife and I just had our second child last week so took sometime off with the new baby.

If it can wait until this weekend we can definitely go through it together on the phone, I have provided a very useful step by step link if you want to give it a quick go.

Sorry again for the delay in response
