Delphi 7 On Windows 7 Using Woll2woll 1st Class Component Spell checker

Hello,

I am using Delphi 7 on Windows 7 and am having problems with spell checker using woll2woll 1st Class component

What is happening is when I right click on the editor and select the spell checker, you get the egg timer and it seems nothing is happeninng, In reality, the spell checker is hidden behing the screen.

I dynamically create an editor:-

NewEditor:TwwDBRichEditMSWord;

I use following to display the spell checker:-

NewEditor.PopupOptions:=[rpoPopupEdit, rpoPopupCut, rpoPopupCopy, rpoPopupPaste,  rpoPopupBold, rpoPopupItalic, rpoPopupUnderline, rpoPopupFont,
rpoPopupBullet, rpoPopupFind, rpoPopupReplace, rpoPopupMSWordSpellCheck  ];

NewEditor.EditorOptions:=NewEditor.EditorOptions+[reoNoConfirmation];

NewEditor.EditorOptions:=NewEditor.EditorOptions-[reoShowInsertObject];

NewEditor.OnChange:=EditorChanged;

There has got to be a way of catching the onclick event for the spell specker and getting the spell checker to display on front.

I had similar problem - and is common on win 7 - dialog hidden behind main form.
you need to force to move in front dialog using FindWindow (to get window handle)
and win api to normalize windows - this might help you:

...
procedure SwitchToThisWindow(h1: hWnd; x: bool); stdcall; external user32 Name 'SwitchToThisWindow';
...
Application.NormalizeTopMosts;
SwitchToThisWindow(win_hndl, True);
....

Open in new window

Thanks for that.

I only want to do this when the user selects spell checker from the popup menu.

so how can I invoke your code if only if that event occurs.

There is no coding inolved. I just set the popup options:-

NewEditor.PopupOptions:=[rpoPopupEdit, rpoPopupCut, rpoPopupCopy, rpoPopupPaste,  rpoPopupBold, rpoPopupItalic, rpoPopupUnderline, rpoPopupFont,
 rpoPopupBullet, rpoPopupFind, rpoPopupReplace, rpoPopupMSWordSpellCheck  ];

It will be very good to contact W2W to fix that then...

So, there is no event like OnSpellCheckPopup or similar?

That's why I don't like third part sw. It makes time to build own stuff - but in a long term.... very acceptable
