Hello,

I need to virtualize win 2008 server for a step in an upgrade process.  So I will only need it need to be available for a few hours.

First can i use the trial download 120 days of win server 2008?

I have vmware workstation v9 running on a win 7 64 with 8 gb of ram.  Will this be satisfactory?

I have only messed with this a small bit before.  Basically I can't remember where I got the installer for windows server to be able to do this.  Please point me in the correct direction.

Thank you.

Yes, you can certainly use the Windows Server 2008 - 120 day trial.

Yes, allocate 4 GB of RAM to the VM, that should be ample.

You will need to download and ISO (CDROM IMAGE) from Microsoft, or Technet.

Connect to CDROM drive in VMware Workstation, turn on the VM, wait for it to BOOT, follow the setup screen.
