I want to be able to export a list of pictures records in containers from a Filemaker database. I want to be able to include the picture and other fields per record exported.
I have tried exporting records to excel, but the container field with the picture is not exported, only the other fields I had selected.

The only way that I'm aware of to export the contents of a Container field to an Excel cell is by using a Plugin such as the 360Works Scribe plugin http://360works.com/filemaker-pdf-plugin/

You can export images from a container to a specific path by creating a calculation that determines the path including the name of the image. You then create a variable, e.g. $FilePath, set it to the path and then use the Export Field Contents script step. However, this only export the contents of the container field and only for one record. To export a group of records you would need to create a Loop that calculates the path for each image and then performs the export. You could then export all other values to Excel or other format.

Go to Record/Request/Page [First]
Loop
       Set Variable [$filePath; Value: Get ( DesktopPath ) MyPics::Description & ".jpg"]
       Export Field Contents [MyPics::Picture; “$filePath”]
       Go to Record/Request/Page [Next; Exit after last]
End Loop
