RDP: Switch from device calls to user cals

Hi

We had an issue recently where we ran out of Device Cals on our RDP server

As we had issues with our device cals, we got user cals instead, and installed them. We changed the RDP properties to use user cals instead

However, they're not being used. How can we force the use of the user cals now, and not the device cals ? We're going to run out shortly again otherwise !

Thanks

You will need to call the Microsoft Clearinghouse.  They will let you convert your licenses 1 direction (although I do not remember if it is machine to user or user to machine.  And they will only allow this 1 time.  You'll have to remove the old machine license pack(s), and put in your new user packs.

If they won't let you trade the direction you want, you will have to repurchase them.   Now.. your machines will likely still use the machine Cal's until they expire (as much as 89 days).  But, as they expire, they should begin to issue the user cals.  If you want to rush it, you can delete the license out of the registry on your client machines.  (Citrix servers track it on the servers themselves).

That should take care of it..
