Why doesn't sysprep run

Trying to image Hp Probook 450 Windows 7, 64x, and sysprep won't run.

what does sysprep do?
does it give an error when running?
what options do you select?
need to provide more details

Question was answered.  The solution received from Microsoft which was to reinstall windows and recreate the image and it worked.  We were able to successfully use sysprep then.
