What is your ultimate need here?
Perhaps I am wrong, ...but this may not be as easy as you think, ...see here for a start:

Again, ...What is your ultimate need here?
In most cases you would simply link to the data in the other database, ...then create your reports/forms, ..ect from the linked tables, ...then use these new forms/reports for whatever you need, ...without even opening the remote db

Am I missing something?

You can un-accept my post if it does not answer your question...

I have used the code in the link I posted, and it worked ok at the time.
As I stated, its possible, ...just that it may not be "easy"
