I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What is your ultimate need here?
Perhaps I am wrong, ...but this may not be as easy as you think, ...see here for a start:
http://www.vb-helper.com/howto_getwindow_min_max_restore.html

Again, ...What is your ultimate need here?
In most cases you would simply link to the data in the other database, ...then create your reports/forms, ..ect from the linked tables, ...then use these new forms/reports for whatever you need, ...without even opening the remote db

Am I missing something?

You can un-accept my post if it does not answer your question...

I have used the code in the link I posted, and it worked ok at the time.
As I stated, its possible, ...just that it may not be "easy"
